Lady's Got the Gold was foaled
right here at Pinefolly Farms. She was imprinted in utero, halter
trained, and taught to load as a youngster. She was not started
under saddle at two. Instead, she had sixty days professional
training as a three year old. Now that she has achieved a more
mature build, we have sent her to a local trails trainer to focus on
that aspect of her education. Pinefolly Farms I has only 12 acres,
and while we have a small wooded area, we do not have any water,
creek or pond, to prepare a horse for crossing the streams and
rivers found in an ordinary trail situation. Limited acreage also
prevents us from exposing her to other obstacles generally
encountered on longer trail rides.

Bucki, as we call her, has now
spent just over two full weeks learning trail skills. As the photos
taken July 2nd illustrate, she has made much progress. She crosses
water slowly and carefully, but willingly, entering at a walk and
not rushing through the streambed. She will pause and stand if the
rider wants, change direction in the water if asked, and exit in the
same calm manner. On up the trail, she is steady and consistent. Her
trainer has not found her to be afraid of anything, which is
consistent with her attitude at home. She works well around the
other horses that go out with her on the daily training rounds.

Lady's Got the Gold can walk slowly
and calmly down the trail, or she can keep up with anything she goes
out with. Her gaits are flashy and they are ultra smooth. She
promises to have a wonderful candenced canter for anyone who would
like to develop it. As the photos show, she has the height and build
to be a real man's trail horse. With her unique shade of buckskin,
she makes an eye-catching mount on the trails, alert and attractive,
with the elegant tail carriage of the old walking saddle horses, a
gift from her grandsire, Red Bud's Rascal.
I have a short digital video of her
being ridden in gait at the trainers'. Due to technical bloopers at
the end, I am not sending it to YouTube, but would be happy to email
it to serious prospective buyers. We have extremely slow dial-up
because hi-speed is NOT available in our area, so please do not ask
me to do this unless you have a strong interest in the mare. Thank
you
