Warden, Washington
Copper Horse Ranch
is a namesake in the memory of a delightful walking-horse mare that
traveled the entire continental United States of America as a field
trial mount. Aptly named Flagger, she was
known for her manors, speed, comfort and flashy four socks and blaze
on her petite, stylish head.

Miss Dawn Terrific retired to our ranch in
the fertile Columbia Basin of Washington State at mid-life to raise our
three children in the way of the horse. Once my ten year old son, Andy,
that had trained her to drive under his young guidance, drove her in a
night parade with a 100-yr.old centurion on the eve of the state
centennial, in a 1910 John Deere Surrey.
When the parade was over, the stylish
little gray haired lady simply dismounted and went on the look for her
son, who had misplaced her. He was nearly 80. This same year they drove
the Governors wife on a tour of our local fair. Passing the Ferris wheel
and carnival in full swing, Andy and Flagger graciously delivered her to
the podium for an arousing welcome. |

Over sequential years the
copper colored horse won every 4-H event at the fair that was offered.
Flagger went on to take Andy to the State Horse Championships in
driving, competing with horses of every breed and size. The copper walker, Miss Dawn Terrific
produced Exclusive Story one of the most published
TWHBEA of our time. She and Andy her rider are products of our continued
breeding efforts. Perhaps you have seen her before? She serves to
represent the TWHBEA in every horse publication, credit card, calendar,
coffee table booklet, and most of the brochures that they have produced
for the last few years. The Sun's Delight D mare that personified a
tear-full of memories at her every turn. |

In the tradition of the
copper horse we offer the versatile, undauntedly handsome stallion…

On the other side of the coin we had other
bigger than life horses that helped raise our children. They could show
with the best, at a walking horse show or in 4-H at six Consecutive
State horse championships, then pack an elk the very next week, squiring
Santa Clause to town for his Christmas Debut in a sleigh on their
return. We were truly blessed with some of the finest
kid-rearing horses of our time. As time passes I solute each one.
The same theme rings true here today. When our grand children can
mount, ride and drive them safely back to the barn; they can
graduate to your ranch.
